100 YEARS CARL WALTER
TOOL FACTORY

1919 Foundation of the company CARL WALTER as a tool supplier for the mining industry in Wuppertal. From the very beginning, the company focused on high demands and uncompromising quality.

1930 Through constant expansion the company developed into a Europe-wide recognized manufacturer of screwing, mining and special tools in the 1930s.

1943 Directly after the big air raid on Wuppertal, the company relocated from Barmen to Hahnerberg within the city. In the same year the company Walter Werkzeug Österreich was founded in Gröding.

1965 Takeover of the company by the von Zitzewitz family. The acquisition of the Robert Kremer drop forge expanded the production possibilities.

1973 Carl Walter built the most modern electroplating plant in Germany at that time. The development and production of special tools became more and more the focus of the company.

1995 A comprehensive quality management system according to DIN EN ISO 9002 was introduced to meet customer requirements.

2015 Expansion of the production area through the construction of a new 800 sqm production hall. In the same year the torque wrench production moved from Iserlohn to Wuppertal.
